Nick Jonas, affectionately dubbed ‘National Jiju’ by his Indian fans, was warmly welcomed at the Lollapalooza Mumbai concert on Saturday. Sharing the stage with his brothers Joe and Kevin, collectively known as the Jonas Brothers, the trio delivered a captivating performance featuring a medley of their chart-topping hits.

Amidst the lively atmosphere, Kevin Jonas playfully introduced Nick as ‘Jiju,’ invoking enthusiastic cheers and chants of ‘jiju jiju’ from the audience. Nick, who is married to Indian actor Priyanka Chopra, reciprocated the love by expressing his gratitude to the cheering crowd.

Taking the mic, Nick Jonas humorously referred to his younger brother Joe and elder brother Kevin as ‘bade papa,’ possibly inspired by what Kevin’s daughter Malti Marie calls him. The crowd erupted in laughter and continued the spirited chanting of ‘jiju jiju’ as Kevin set the stage for Nick’s remarks. “Jiju, ladies and gentlemen,” Kevin declared, prompting joyous responses from the audience.

Nick Jonas , demonstrating his diverse musical talents, performed ‘Maan Meri Jaan x Afterlife’ with King and even sang a portion of the song in Hindi. Before the Jonas Brothers took the stage, the upbeat track ‘Gallan Goodiyaan’ from the film ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ set the mood for the night.

Addressing the crowd, Nick Jonas shared his excitement about their first performance in India, playfully dismissing the significance of the sangeet ceremony from his 2018 wedding with Priyanka. He expressed the Jonas family’s “deep connection” with India, prompting the crowd to chant “jiju, jiju” once again. Nick conveyed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you for having us, and we will make the most excitable night ever.”

The Jonas Brothers delivered a lively medley of soft and peppy songs, including hits like ‘Celebrate,’ ‘Sucker,’ ‘What a Man Gotta Do,’ ‘Close,’ and ‘Jealous.’ Nick Jonas extended his appreciation to the fans, describing them as “incredible” throughout the day.

As they prepared for their final track, “Leave Before You Love Me,” Nick thanked the audience and promised a return, saying, “We shall come back and do this again sometime very soon. We have one more for you.”

The two-day Lollapalooza festival, commencing on Saturday, featured performances by various artists, including The Raghu Dixit Project, When Chai Met Toast, Halsey, and The Karan Kanchan Experience. Legendary musician Sting is set to close the Lollapalooza edition on Sunday night, promising music aficionados an unforgettable experience.
